Here's your one minute housing market video update from RE/MAX for March 2017 using February 2017 housing data.
February 2017 was a strong month compared to one year ago with the exception of a small downturn in closed sales, which was primarily due to lack of inventory. Meantime, that lack of inventory impacted the other primary metrics in that median price of homes was up and reached a new high, days on market were down by a full week, and inventory of homes was down reaching 100 consecutive months of decreasing inventory.
- Home sales down .02%
- Median price of homes sold up 6.0%
- Average days on market were down 7 days
- Number of homes for sale down 17.9%
Home buyer demand is strong. There simply are not enough sellers listing their homes, despite rising prices and increasing interest rates.
