July 4 Pet Safety Tips

JULY 4 PET SAFETY TIPS

Keeping pets safe during fireworks

Did you know more pets get lost on July 4th than any other day of the year?

You might enjoy the Red, White & Boom of July 4th celebration fireworks. But your pets DO NOT! Dogs (and cats) are frightened by fireworks, explosions and loud noises and try to run away to safety. Many can’t seem to find their way home. So keep it a “pet-friendly” holiday and just in case one of your four-legged family members does run away, make sure they all have easy to spot identification on them.

As the July 4th weekend approaches, check out the two great infographics  below from Petfinder.com with great (and easy) tips on keeping your dogs and cats safe during the celebrations in the coming days, as well as the fireworks safety tips for pets infographic. Your fur-babies will appreciate your taking a little bit of extra time to make sure they are safe and secure and away from as much noise as possible. And how happy will you be not to lose any loved pets?

Have fun celebrating Independence Day, but remember that your pets don’t like the red, white and boom! Don’t forget to keep your pets safe during the July 4th holiday festivities. Don’t let carelessness ruin your July 4th holiday with a lost pet.
