Eat Your Way Through Charlotte: StrEATs Festival 2026

EAT YOUR WAY THROUGH CHARLOTTE’S BEST BITES: StrEATs Festival 2026
What It’s Like to Experience Charlotte’s Food Scene at the Annual StrEATs Festival
If you’re looking for a snapshot of what makes Charlotte such a great place to live right now, the Charlotte StrEATs Festival on April 11–12, 2026 is a pretty good place to start. For newcomers and people moving to Charlotte, this is the kind of event that helps them quickly get a feel for the local culture. You’re not just hearing about the restaurant scene—you’re experiencing it all in one place.
Back for its 5th year—and now set in Uptown at First Ward Park—this event brings together a big piece of what’s driving Charlotte’s growth: local restaurants, small businesses, and a community that actually shows up to support them. 2,650 people attended in 2025.
Held in partnership with Charlotte SHOUT!, StrEATs has evolved into more than just a food festival. It’s a reflection of how much the city’s dining and social scene has expanded over the past few years—and why so many people relocating here are excited about it.

Food, Cocktails & Local Vendors in Uptown Charlotte
Beyond the restaurant tastings, StrEATs also gives plenty of space to local vendors and small food businesses. The Artisan Market features a curated mix of Charlotte-based makers—think specialty sauces, baked goods, packaged foods, and other culinary finds you can take home.
If you’re into cocktails🍹 🍸 , the tasting wristbands are a solid option. You’ll get five different craft cocktails from local mixologists, which is a fun way to try something new without committing to a full drink.
Food trucks 🚚 are another big part of the festival on Sunday. It’s a more casual way to experience the local food scene, with everything from quick bites to more creative street food options.
For a more relaxed setup, pre-ordering one of the curated picnic baskets,🧺 prepared by Charlotte’s top caterers, lets you skip the lines and just enjoy the afternoon—and it supports the Charlotte StrEATs Foundation at the same time.
Why StrEATs Festival Reflects Charlotte’s Lifestyle
This year’s move to First Ward Park just makes the whole event work better—more space, easier to move around, and a layout that feels manageable even when it’s busy. It puts the event right in the middle of Uptown, with more room to spread out and a layout that’s easier to navigate—something that makes a noticeable difference if you’ve ever been to a crowded festival. 📍Directions to First Ward Park.
Events like the StrEATs Festival highlight something we’re seeing more and more: people aren’t just buying homes—they’re buying into a lifestyle. Walkability, local dining, and community events all factor into where buyers are choosing to live.
Whether you’re already here or considering a move, this is the kind of weekend that offers a great snapshot of Charlotte’s vibrant lifestyle… from local dining to outdoor events and everything in between.
