SouthPark After 5: What Living in SouthPark, Charlotte Looks Like

Living in SouthPark Charlotte offers more than just convenient shopping and beautiful homes—it’s about lifestyle and community.  Events like SouthPark After 5 at Symphony Park give residents a chance to enjoy live music, local food, and a relaxed outdoor setting right in the heart of the South Park neighborhood.

The SouthPark After 5 event takes place every Thursday from April 16 through May 21, 2026, right in the heart of SouthPark at Symphony Park(4400 Sharon Road), near the intersection of Barclay Downs Drive and Carnegie Boulevard and adjacent to SouthPark Mall. The opening act is from 5:00 PM till 6:30 PM. The main act begins at 7:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM.

Each week features live music, local food trucks, drinks, and casual interactive activities. It’s not a large-scale festival—it’s more of a laid-back neighborhood event, which is exactly what makes it appealing.  SouthPark After Five, often referred to as Charlotte’s largest happy hour, features a wide variety of bands including rock, country, jazz, tribute bands and more. If you’re exploring SouthPark real estate or considering a move to the area, this is a great example of the day-to-day lifestyle residents enjoy. One of the advantages of living in SouthPark Charlotte is having access to spaces like Symphony Park, where events like this bring people together without needing to travel far.

A few things to know before you go:

  • The event is free and open to the public
  • Family-friendly and dog-friendly (leashes required)
  • Bring a blanket or lawn chairs for seating
  • Paved walkways make it easy for strollers and mobility devices

For buyers relocating to Charlotte or moving within the area, SouthPark continues to stand out for its balance of convenience, walkability, and community atmosphere—and this is just one example of that in action.
