Where to Find Charlotte’s Best Pumpkins, Corn Mazes & Hayrides
Pumpkin Patches & Corn Mazes Within An Hour Of Charlotte
October around Charlotte comes with a few important decisions.
How big a pumpkin can you reasonably carry? How many apple cider donuts are too many? And who in your group should absolutely NOT be trusted to lead the way through a corn maze?
And the best part? You don’t have to spend hours in the car to put all three questions to the test. There are plenty of pumpkin patches and corn mazes within about an hour of Charlotte, from old-fashioned family farms to full-blown fall festivals.
This year’s lineup includes everything from pick-your-own pumpkin fields and sprawling corn mazes to hayrides, farm animals, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin chunkin’, Old West adventures and even nighttime mazes for anyone who thinks getting lost in broad daylight isn’t challenging enough.
Some are big fall festivals where you can easily spend half a day. Others are old-fashioned farms where the main event is heading into the field and finding the pumpkin — the one you’ll carry around for 20 minutes before spotting another one you suddenly like better.
So grab your walking shoes, bring your sense of direction — or someone else’s — and check out these 14 must visit pumpkin patches and corn mazes around Greater Charlotte, within about an hour’s drive of Charlotte.

Hall Family Farm — Lancaster, SC
If your idea of a proper pumpkin patch involves actually heading into the field and cutting your pumpkin from the vine, Hall Family Farm belongs near the top of the list.
Along with pumpkins, there are small and large corn mazes, a musical hayride, slides, play areas, a bamboo maze and plenty of food and fall treats. There’s enough going on here to turn “let’s go get a pumpkin” into most of an afternoon.

Almond Farm — Concord, NC
Almond Farm doesn’t stop at pumpkins.
Its Fall Festival includes a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, U-pick wildflowers, farm animals, a jump pad and plenty of other activities. On Saturdays and Sundays there’s even a Candy Dump at noon and 3 p.m.
Because apparently simply handing candy to people wasn’t dramatic enough.

Days: Wednesday–Sunday
Admission: Ticketed; check the farm’s online system for current pricing.
Reservations/Tickets: Buying tickets online is recommended, particularly for October weekends.

Amazing Maize Maze At Historic Rural Hill — Huntersville, NC
If you’re going to get lost, you might as well do it “right.”
Rural Hill’s corn maze is one of the Charlotte area’s best-known fall traditions. The 2026 design gives a nod to Rural Hill’s Scottish roots with a bagpiper and Highland cow incorporated into the maze.
Your mission is to navigate the twists and turns and locate the game stations along the way.
Or you can dispense with the competitive part entirely and simply try to locate the exit.
There are also hayrides, a pumpkin patch, bounce houses, food trucks and Highland cows.
2026 Season: Weekends September 5–October 31
Day Maze: Friday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; enter by 3:30 p.m.
Night Maze: Friday and Saturday nights in October beginning at 5 p.m.; enter by 9 p.m. Bring a flashlight.

Night Maze Admission: $20 adults; $17 children.
Pumpkins: Additional charge.
Tickets: Required but generally not date-specific for regular public maze days.
Address: 4431 Neck Road, Huntersville, NC 28078
And pay attention to that address. Rural Hill specifically warns visitors not to let GPS send them to the Jim Kidd Road entrance.
Country Days Corn Maze — Indian Trail, NC
Country Days gives you two opportunities to question your sense of direction.
There’s the Big Maze and the shorter Little Ears Maze, plus a pumpkin patch and lots of farm activities. The 2026 maze celebrates America’s 250th anniversary.
The Big Maze takes roughly 30 minutes during the day and closer to 40 minutes at night — assuming, of course, you aren’t traveling with the person who keeps announcing, “I’m pretty sure it’s this way.”
2026 Season: September 25–November 7

Pumpkins: Sold separately, generally $2.50–$14 depending on size.

Outlaw Acres — Monroe, NC
A pumpkin patch and corn maze are pretty standard October fare.
An Old West town? Not so much.
Outlaw Acres combines its corn maze and pumpkins with an 1800s-style Western town, farm animals, play areas, live entertainment and a Super Mega Slide.
There are Western-themed mini shows throughout the day and live music, too. So if you’ve done the traditional pumpkin-patch outing a dozen times and want something a little different, this one certainly qualifies.

Hours: Saturday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sunday noon–5 p.m.
Admission: $16; ages 3 and younger free.
Included: Corn maze, Super Mega Slide, animals, Old West town, play areas and live entertainment.

Black’s Peaches — York, SC
Don’t let the name fool you. Peach season may be over, but Black’s isn’t packing things up for fall.
Every Saturday in October, Black Peaches Farm holds its Fall Festival with a corn maze, hayride, pumpkin chunkin’, hay maze, playground, corn shelling, cow milking, horse rodeo and skeeball.
This may also be the only place on the list where you can follow a corn maze with lunch at the farm grill and decide that hand-dipped ice cream counts as a perfectly reasonable October farm activity.
2026 Fall Festival: Every Saturday in October
Hours: 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Admission: $12 + tax; ages 2 and younger free.
Included: Hayride, corn maze, pumpkin chunkin’, hay maze, playground, corn shelling, cow milking, horse rodeo, skeeball and other activities.
Pumpkins: Available during October.
Pets: No pets during the Fall Festival.
Address: 1800 Black Highway, York, SC 29745
Cherry Place Farm — Rock Hill, SC
If you’d rather have a smaller, old-fashioned farm experience than a sprawling fall festival, Cherry Place Farm is a particularly good option.
The centerpiece is a two-acre corn maze that generally takes about 20–30 minutes to complete. And for anyone whose enthusiasm for being lost in a cornfield has a strict time limit, the farm has a map available.
Admission also includes a hayride, visiting and feeding the farm animals, barnyard games and free popcorn. Pumpkins are available separately.
And there are hot mini donuts.
Which, frankly, may be reason enough to go.
2026 Dates: October 3–4, 9–11, 17–18 and 24–25
Saturday: 10 a.m.–6 p.m.
Sunday: 1–6 p.m.

Payment: Cash and cards accepted; 3% credit card surcharge.
Address: 1950 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730
Red Wolf Farm — Maiden, NC
Red Wolf Farm packs a lot into its admission price.
There’s a large corn maze, children’s maze, unlimited hayrides, pedal tractors, inflatables, pumpkin bowling, a giant corn house, farm animals, games and plenty more.
Yes, pumpkin bowling.
Because apparently pumpkins have been sitting around all these years just waiting for someone to turn them into sporting equipment.

Hours: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. on public dates.

Want The Pumpkin Patch Without The Big Corn Maze?
Not everyone needs to spend 45 minutes arguing over which way to turn at an intersection made entirely of corn.
If picking the perfect pumpkin is more important than finding your way out of a maze, there are plenty of other Charlotte-area choices.
Bush-N-Vine Farm — York, SC
This is one for anyone who thinks a pumpkin is considerably more interesting when you actually get to walk into the field and pick it yourself.
Bush-N-Vine grows its pumpkins on the farm, and visitors can head into the patch to choose their own. There’s no admission charge and no reservation required — you simply pay for what you pick.
There’s also a walking trail, play area and Farm Cafe with seasonal treats.
One thing that’s different for 2026: there are no hayrides this year. Wagons are available to haul your pumpkin treasures out of the field instead.
2026 Pumpkin Season: September 26–October 31
Admission: Free.
Pumpkins: Under 5 lbs., $1.15/lb.; 5+ lbs., 69¢/lb., with some specialty pumpkins priced differently.
Reservations: Not required.
Sunday: Closed.
Address: 1650 Filbert Highway, York, SC 29745
And if you happen to leave with apple cider donuts in addition to the pumpkins, I’m fairly certain that still counts as pumpkin picking.
Carrigan Farms — Mooresville, NC
Carrigan Farms doesn’t just let you choose a pumpkin from a display.
A tractor-drawn hayride takes you out to more than 20 acres of pumpkins, where you head into the field and pick your pumpkin right off the vine.
With thousands of pumpkins growing across the fields, the real challenge may be convincing everyone that they don’t need to inspect every single one before making a decision.
2026 Pumpkin Picking: Begins October 3 and continues through October on scheduled dates.
Admission: Approximately $16–$18 per person, depending on the day.
Reservations: Required in advance for every visitor.
Deposit: $5 nonrefundable deposit per person; remaining balance due according to the farm’s booking instructions.
Included: Tractor-drawn hayride and pumpkin-picking experience.
Arrival: Plan to arrive 15 minutes before your reserved hayride.
Address: 1261 Oakridge Farm Highway, Mooresville, NC 28115
Lineberger’s Maple Springs Farm — Dallas, NC
Lineberger’s is another old-fashioned farm option where getting through the gate won’t cost you anything.
The fourth-generation family farm grows an enormous assortment of pumpkins and gourds, so this isn’t necessarily the place to go if you’re hoping to make a quick decision.
There are also playgrounds, picnic areas, chickens to feed and wagon rides to the pumpkin patch.
2026 Fall Season: Opens September 12
Farm Admission: Free.
Wagon Ride: $7.50 and includes a medium-size pumpkin.
Pumpkins: Available for purchase in addition to the wagon-ride option.
Reservations: Not generally required for regular visits.
Address: 906 Dallas Stanley Highway, Dallas, NC 28034
Wise Acres Organic Farm — Indian Trail, NC
Wise Acres offers pumpkin and flower field access, animals, playgrounds, a scavenger hunt and a smaller sunn hemp maze rather than a traditional large corn maze.
You can also add a corn pit, wagon ride, barrel train ride. And if wandering around a farm makes you hungry, the farm is known for its wood-fired pizza.
2026 Fall Season: Begins September 13
Basic Fall Admission: $3 per person ages 3+; ages 2 and younger free.
Optional Add-ons: Corn pit $4; wagon ride $4.50; barrel train $3 per child.
Pizza Package: $31 base price includes two Wise Pie pizzas, plus $3 per person ages 3+.
Pumpkins: Additional charge.
Reservations: Required for every farm visit.
Address: 4701 Hartis Road, Indian Trail, NC 28079
Hunter Farm — Weddington, NC
Hunter Farm is one of the most convenient choices for south Charlotte.
The fall season includes the pumpkin patch and the farm’s signature wagon ride to its interactive petting barn, where visitors can meet and feed the animals. Each wagon rider also receives a pie pumpkin.
Friday evenings on selected dates bring Farm Fridays with live music, food trucks and the pumpkin patch.
2026 Fall Season: September 25–November 1

Hodges Family Farm — Charlotte, NC
And then there’s the option that doesn’t require leaving Charlotte at all.
Hodges Family Farm & Pumpkin Patch offers the classic pumpkin-patch experience with pumpkins, barnyard animals, hay bales, photo spots, picnic areas and additional weekend activities at a historic working farm.
It’s a good choice if you want pumpkins and fall atmosphere without turning the outing into a road trip.
2026 Season: September 26–October 31
Hours: Daily, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.; entrance gate closes at 5:30 p.m.
Admission: Free.
Weekend Parking: $5 per vehicle.
Activities: Some weekend activities have an additional charge.
Address: 3780 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28215
So…Which Pumpkin Patch Are You Picking?
You can make this as simple or as ambitious as you want.
Pick a pumpkin straight from the vine. Spend an afternoon on a hayride. Attempt an enormous corn maze. Go pumpkin bowling. Wander through an Old West town. Try pumpkin chunkin’. Feed a farm animal. Or wait until dark, grab a flashlight and voluntarily walk back into the corn.
Charlotte may not deliver crisp fall temperatures on demand, but we’re certainly not short on places to make the most of pumpkin season.
One final piece of advice:
If you’ve passed the same stalk of corn three times, you are not “almost there.”
You’re lost!
PS Farm schedules, admission prices and activities can change because of weather, crop conditions and other factors. Check directly with each farm before heading out, especially if you’re making a longer drive.
