2024 LABOR DAY FACTS BY THE NUMBERS FROM WALLETHUB:

 

• 35% of American workers belonged to a union in the 1950’s compared with 10% in 2023.
• 168 million Americans aged 16 and older are in the workforce.
• 21% of Americans plan to drive or fly over the Labor Day weekend.
• 450+ traffic fatalities and 51,900+ serious traffic accidents are expected over the Labor Day weekend… so drive safely.
• 69% of Americans say Labor Day is their favorite holiday.
• 67% of Americans will celebrate the holiday.
• 51% of Americans have not taken a vacation in more than one year. 78% have left vacation days on the table in 2023. 23% of American workers earn no vacation days.
• Some 76 races will be held across America this Labor Day weekend.
• 63% of Americans plan to barbecue this Labor Day holiday. 818 million hot dogs are consumed between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
