Matthews Alive Labor Day Festival 2023Labor Day Weekend 2023 is upon us and if you’ve lived in the Charlotte area for any period of time, you know it’s almost time for the annual Matthews Alive Festival.  

Starting Friday, September 1st through Labor Day, September 4th, you’ll not only have a ton of  fun at the Matthews Alive Festival, you’ll be helping the Town of Matthews contribute to local non-profit organizations. 100% of the proceeds from the festival go to local non-profits,  living up to the festival’s “motto” of: “good times funding good works.”

Matthews Alive is true Labor Day Weekend tradition in the Greater Charlotte  area since 1992. $2+ million have been contributed to the local community by the Town of Matthews from funds raised by this festival since 1992. As many as 150,000 people have attended in past years.

 

What can Matthews Alive Festival visitors expect to find at the festival?

  • Small Shops Pavilion with 160 arts and crafts vendors
  • 30+ food vendors at the Food Court.
  • Labor Day Parade (the largest Labor Day Parade in the Southeast) on Saturday, September 2nd at 9:30 am. The parade lasts about 1-1/2 hours.
  • Tons of games and rides for kids and adults alike
  • Main Stage in Stumptown Park, featuring a variety of music throughout the event, from beach, to country, to classic rock, and everything in between.
  • Kid’s Stage, featuring lots of fun-filled children’s entertainment.

MATTHEWS ALIVE 2023 ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE

 

When: Labor Day Weekend 2023: September 1st through September 4th


Festival Hours:  

Friday: 6:00 pm till 10:00 pm

Saturday:  10:00 pm till 10:00 pm

Sunday:  1:00 pm till 10:00 pm

Monday:  9:00 am till 5:00 pm

 

Admission: Free. Ride tickets: $2 for 1 ticket; $30 for a sheet of 25 tickets; $50 for a sheet of 50 tickets. Multiple booths will accept credit cards and there will also be ATMs on site.

 

Where: Historic Downtown Matthews (at the corner of John & Trade Streets) 

 

PLEASE NOTE: Pets are not allowed at the Festival unless they are service animals. No alcohol permitted on festival grounds.
