20 Best Public High Schools In Charlotte Region For 2021

The top 20 ranked public high schools in the Charlotte region for 2021, as ranked by Niche.com. Excellent schools are a major determinant of home values in the Charlotte area and demand for homes in certain neighborhoods. Which Charlotte Public High Schools Are Top Rated?

 

Charlotte region’s Charlotte Mecklenburg School System (CMS) had seven high schools rank in the top 20, three of them in the top 10 ranked schools. The top ranked high schools in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system included:

 

 

 

 

  • Harper Middle College High School in southwest Charlotte, ranked #16 in the entire Charlotte region and as the #7 best public high school in Mecklenburg County. Harper Middle College High School (HMCHS) is an honors program offered by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools that gives students the chance to earn college credit during their junior and senior years.  HMCHS is a Cooperative Innovative High School located on the Harper Campus of Central Piedmont Community College and is part of the Career and College Promise program. (Enrollment is limited to 100 students per grade.)

 

  • Cato Middle College High School in north Charlotte, ranked #17 in the entire Charlotte region and #8 in Mecklenburg County. Cato Middle College High School (CMCHS) is an honors program offered by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools that consists of grades 11-13. It gives students an opportunity to earn college credit during their junior and senior years as well as one additional year.   • Charlotte Engineering Early College located at University of North Carolina/Charlotte, ranked #18, is a small public school of choice and a joint project between Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
