You know fall is in the air when Charlotte fall festivals start popping up. This coming weekend is no exception! Here are three Charlotte traditions when it comes to Charlotte fall festivals. The Festival in the Park is celebrating its 60th anniversary; the Charlotte Beer Fall Festival is celebrating its 14th anniversary; Mecktoberfest is going strong after 15 years and now in two locations in 2024.
FESTIVAL IN THE PARK: September 20-22
A true Charlotte tradition, Festival in the Park in Freedom Park has been bringing good music, good art and good times to Charlotteans since 1964! That’s 60 years, if you’re counting! You’ll have three days to enjoy the Festival in the Park. Freedom Park is located at 1900 East Boulevard in Charlotte.

CHARLOTTE BEER FALL FESTIVAL: September 21
Enjoy UNLIMITED SAMPLING of beer and cider made by more than 20 national, regional, and local craft breweries at the Charlotte Beer Fall Festival. Vote for the Best Fall Beer and Best Fall Cider. What a great way to enjoy your favorite beers and discover new favorites! You’ll also be able to enjoy food from some of Charlotte’s most popular food trucks, live music. Ticket prices range from $50-65. A portion of the proceeds from the event benefit AltruSpirit, a newly established non-profit that will provide athletic programming for at-risk/financially disadvantaged youth in the Charlotte area. Come over to the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery & Biergarten for the perennially popular Mecktoberfest and celebrate the new fall season with fresh beer, traditional German food, and live Bavarian music. And don’t forget your lederhosen and dirndl skirt! Try testing your strength in stein holding competitions! This year, you’ll be able to celebrate at the Ballantyne Bowl, as well. You’ll have three days on three weekends to enjoy Mecktoberfest:
