Do you and your dog love a dog party? Do you like exploring other cultures? Whatever it is you like… you’ll find it in Charlotte this weekend.
NATIONAL TRAILS DAY: JUNE 1
National Trails Day is on Saturday, June 1st. You’ll be able to hike, bike and paddle across the Charlotte region, including
- Guided Bike Ride: Little Sugar Creek Greenway – 20 mile ride from Charlotte’s NoDa neighborhood in Charlotte to the South Carolina border.
- Guided Hike at Twelve Mile Creek Greenway — Town of Waxhaw will have a guided trail walk led by Director of Parks and Recreation, Dena Sabinske! The walk will begin and end at Nesbit Park Trailhead, 1304 HC Nesbit Park Drive. The guided trail walk begins at 9 am, and round trip, the walk will be about 6 miles. All ages welcome, but children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Hike begins at 9:00 AM.

BIG MECKLENBURG COUNTY FAIR: JUNE 1-2
The inaugural Big Mecklenburg County Fair winds up this weekend. The fair takes place from 1:00 PM till 11:00 PM at the Park Expo & Conference Center in Charlotte next to Bojangles Coliseum at 800 Briar Creek Road. Experience thrilling rides, captivating shows, and lots of family-friendly fun.

BIG MECKLENBURG COUNTY FAIR ATTRACTIONS
FAMILY FUN DAY IN INDIAN TRAIL: JUNE 1
Indian Trail’s biggest event of the year, Family Fun Day, takes place on Saturday, June 1st from 2:00 PM till 9:30 PM at Crooked Creek Park (5900 Oakwood Lane). The event includes free rides, games and entertainment, food trucks, and local vendor tents, plus a spectacular fireworks show to wrap up the fun. There is no parking at Family Fun Day. PLAZA MIDWOOD DOG PARK PARTY: JUNE 1
The Plaza Midwood Dog Park is celebrating its third anniversary with a party on June 1st from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM at 1265 Clermont Avenue. The celebration will include sponsor giveaways, dog photo booth, treats for both humans and dogs, and three group training sessions. Dog training will be at 2:30 and 3:30 pm hosted by Robin Lincoln Training and 4:30 pm hosted Dog Owner’s Academy. And if you’ve been thinking about adding a dog to your family, there will also be opportunities to adopt.
JAPAN FEST: JUNE 1-2
The first Annual Japan Fest in Charlotte, hosted by Urban District Market and Seoul Food Meat Co., takes place Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd from 11:30 AM till 8:00 PM at the Urban District Market located at 2315 N Davidson Street. The Japan Fest will feature The festival will feature matsuri games, music, food and drinks, origami, martial arts, as well as karaoke and anime cosplay contests.
