BEACHFEST MATTHEWS: MAY 10-11
Matthews is one of Charlotte area’s most loved and anticipated annual festivals, sponsored by Novant Health in the historic town of Matthews. The 16th Annual BeachFest Matthews Festival 2024 takes place Friday, May 10th from 6:00 PM till 10:00 PM and Saturday, May 11th from 10:00 AM till 10:00 PM. Enjoy beach music and shag dancing, carnival rides, craft beer and street food, arts & crafts vendors. BeachFest Matthews venue: in/around Stumptown Park, located at 120 S Trade Street in Matthews.
CHARLOTTE DRAGON BOAT & ASIAN FESTIVAL: MAY 11
The 2024 Charlotte Dragon Boat Festival Race and Charlotte Asian Festival are set for Saturday, May 11. The festival celebrates Asian cultures, diversity, ethnicity, roots and history. An important part of the Chinese traditional calendar, dragon boat racing originated over 2,300 years ago on the life-sustaining rivers of southern China. MOTHER’S DAY AT THE BALLANTYNE HOTEL: MAY 11 & 12
Treat Mom to a special Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea at The Ballantyne Hotel on May 11 and May 12 from 1:00-3:00 PM. The tea will feature festive savories and treats, a glass of sparkling wine, and, of course, a variety of teas from the Rare Tea Company! Reservations advised.
The Ballantyne’s much loved Mother’s Day Brunch is on Sunday, March 12th from 10:30 AM till 4:00 PM. Enjoy a wonderful buffet brunch and live music in the beautiful Ballantyne Ballroom. Reservations advised.
WINE FESTIVAL AT BALLANTYNE VILLAGE: MAY 11
One of Charlotte’s favorite spring events… sip and stroll your way through a large selection of local, regional and national wine varieties and vineyards. CAROLINA POTTERY FESTIVAL 2024: MAY 11
Carolina Clay Matters (CCM) Carolina Pottery Festival takes place Saturday, May 11th from 10:00 AM till 4:00 PM at the Ford Building at Camp North End. If you’re a pottery lover and/or collector, you’ll enjoy seeing ceramic works from 60+ local artists in the Greater Charlotte area, including long-time professionals and emerging artists!
