Share Charlotte Do Good Week: April 20-24, 2026! 🫶
Show Up! Make It Count! 🫶 Be Part Of The Good! 🤝
One Week. One City. Hundreds of Ways To Be Part Of The Good In Charlotte. 🤝
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
– Mahatma Gandhi
Most people want to help—they just don’t always know where to start, or if it’s even going to matter.
That’s kind of the point behind SHARE Charlotte’s 10th Annual Do Good Week: April 20-24, 2026. It makes that first step to being part of the good easier—and for many people, it turns into something they keep doing long after Do Good week is over.
SHARE Charlotte’s Do Good Week lines up with National Volunteer Week, but locally it’s really about what’s needed right here in the Queen City. There are nonprofits all over Mecklenburg County that could use an extra set of hands—serving meals, organizing donations, helping at events, working with kids, or just filling in where they’re stretched thin.
2025 was a record-breaking year when more than 5,400 people signed up to volunteer. When you break that down, it’s a lot of small things getting done that probably wouldn’t have happened otherwise. So in 2026, The Year of the Volunteer, why not be part of the good?
“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
– Muhammad Ali
Do Good Week is powered by SHARE Charlotte, a local non-profit connecting the Charlotte community to hundreds of local non-profits. SHARE Charlotte makes it easy to find ways to give back—whether that’s through volunteering, donating, or simply learning more about causes that matter to you. They believe that everyone has something to contribute and that, together, it’s possible to create a stronger, more vibrant Charlotte.
“Volunteers don’t necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
– Elizabeth Andrew.
SHARE Charlotte believes in the power of community and the incredible impact volunteers can have right here at home. Whether you’re donating an hour of your time or committing to long-term service, every act of kindness helps build a better Charlotte. And right now, as many nonprofits face uncertainty, your support matters more than ever.
“Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds.”
– President William J. Clinton

– Sherry Anderson
SHARE Charlotte’s Message: Small Acts = BIG Impact
-
Whether you volunteer for an hour or once a week, every effort counts.
-
A single act of kindness can inspire a ripple effect—encouraging friends, family, and coworkers to get involved.
-
Just one hour of your time can translate into meals, mentorship, or vital services that nonprofits may otherwise not be able to provide.
“Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they just have the heart.”
– Elizabeth Andrew

Volunteering Isn’t Just “Nice,” It’s Powerful
- It changes you, too. People say this all the time after they volunteer—they feel better… less stressed… more connected. Like they actually did something that mattered that day.
- It spreads—fast. You help out, someone notices. Next thing you know, a friend or coworker is asking how they can get involved too. It builds from there.
“Everybody can be great…because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
– Martin Luther King, Jr.
