56th Annual Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte is back November 9th through November 19th.
The Southern Christmas Show is my favorite Christmas event in Charlotte. Although I dislike crowded venues (which the Southern Christmas Show very much is), I’ve looked forward to the Southern Christmas Show every year since moving to Charlotte 25 years ago. I know Christmas is literally “just around the corner” once the show arrives in the Queen City. The Southern Christmas Show is the largest such holiday show in the country and one of the most popular.
The theme for the 2023 Southern Christmas Show is “Nauti or Nice” and will showcase buoys, boats, and and sandy beaches. From the minute you enter the show, you’ll be bowled over by the nautical-inspired entrance that will make you feel you’re in seaside Maine at Christmas time. You’ll find some 400 vendors, designer rooms full of ideas for Christmas decorating, the ever-popular Christmas Tree Lane, Olde Town, and an entertainment stage.
The Southern Christmas show is an annual tradition for many Charlotteans to “kick off” their holiday season, as it’s become mine. 100,000+ visitors, both local and from all around the South, begin their holiday shopping season by attending Charlotte’s Southern Christmas Show.

My Personal 3 Tips To Enhance Your Southern Christmas Show Experience:
- I like to arrive in time for opening for easier parking and smaller crowds. If you go on a Sunday, early in the morning is the best time to come before the post-brunch crowd arrives. Busloads of people come from all over the South to attend this show so be prepared for crowds.
- Wear comfortable shoes–you’ll be covering a lot of territory at the Expo.
- Bring a tote bag or two (or three) to carry your purchases.
