Top Chef Is Coming To Charlotte: Sharpen Your Knives!
TOP CHEF👨🍳 IS COMING TO CHARLOTTE! HAS THE QUEEN CITY👑 HIT THE CULINARY BIG LEAGUES?
Are You A Top Chef Fan?
I sure am. I’ve followed the show since it debuted in 2010 — through the spicy Quickfire challenges, the heart-pounding eliminations, and the tearful “pack your knives and go” moments. So when I heard that Top Chef is coming to Charlotte, NC, I nearly dropped my fork.
Charlotte has been building a serious culinary reputation lately — craft cocktail bars, inventive international spots, and Southern staples that make you want to lick the plate clean. But now I have to ask: does Top Chef filming here mean Charlotte has officially made it to the big leagues? I think so.
Here’s The Scoop:
Bravo’s Emmy, James Beard, and Critics’ Choice Award-winning show will be filming its 23rd season in Charlotte (with a side trip to Greenville, SC) for a 2026 air date. That means Charlotte’s restaurants, skyline, and foodie culture are about to get some well-deserved national attention. And yes, that also means we might just spot host Kristen Kish, head judge Tom Colicchio, and judge Gail Simmons wandering around town — probably with very full stomachs.
What To Expect:
This season will lean into Southern hospitality, but with the fierce competition and high drama that makes Top Chef so addictive. Picture our Uptown skyline glistening behind tense elimination challenges. Imagine bold Carolina flavors — maybe some barbecue, maybe some shrimp and grits — going head-to-head with creative international dishes inspired by our city’s diversity.
And while the chefs themselves will be from all over the country, the show’s setting means Charlotte will be the backdrop for every tense cook-off and every triumphant win.
Why This Matters To Charlotte:
This isn’t about getting to taste the dishes (sadly, that’s just for the judges!) — it’s about the national spotlight. With Top Chef filming here, millions of viewers will see Charlotte’s skyline, feel our Southern hospitality, and hear our name tied to great food. While the competing chefs are coming from across the country, the show’s presence will still highlight our vibrant dining culture and the fact that Charlotte is a place where food is taken seriously. It’s an opportunity for our city to be recognized as a culinary destination — not just in the Southeast, but on a national scale.
So, my fellow food lovers, let’s welcome Top Chef with excitement and pride. The Queen City is about to be front and center for food fans across the country — and I can’t wait to watch Charlotte shine on screen.
